Daffy for Families is a unique platform designed to foster a culture of giving within families. It allows up to 24 family members, including two organizers, to come together under one fund, making it an excellent choice for a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF). This platform is perfect for grandparents wishing to instill the tradition of giving in their grandchildren, or aunts and uncles seeking a meaningful way to bond with their nieces and nephews.
Daffy for Families encourages the younger generation to participate in philanthropy. Anyone aged 13 and above can have their own secure account and password. Each family member can propose donations to specific organizations, which are then approved by the family fund organizers. Notifications are sent out whenever a new donation is made, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose within the family.
Unlike traditional DAFs, Daffy does not charge fees based on the percentage of assets in the fund, nor does it levy fees on contributions or donations. Instead, Daffy for Families is available at a flat membership fee of just $5 a month per family.
The process to get started is simple. Sign up for Daffy, select “Family,” and provide the details of each family member. If you already have a Daffy account, you can easily switch to a Family membership and add members to your fund. Family members are then invited to download the app, create their own account, and join your fund. They can choose the causes they care about and follow charities they want to support. Whenever a family member feels inspired to give, they can request donations from your fund, which are then sent to the fund organizers for approval.
Daffy for Families is more than just a platform for giving; it's a tool for teaching the next generation about philanthropy, sparking meaningful conversations, and raising happier, kinder, and more generous adults. For more information, visit daffy.org/family.
