Description
Long-distance aviation cannot simply replace jet engines with batteries. It still needs energy-dense liquid fuel, but conventional jet fuel continually adds fossil carbon to the atmosphere.
Aeon Blue is developing a reactor designed to extract carbon and hydrogen from seawater and convert them into synthetic aviation fuel using renewable power. The resulting fuel is intended to work with existing aircraft and fueling infrastructure. Aeon Blue holds nine patents, has published peer-reviewed research, and is working with aviation partners on fuel testing and pilot projects.
Support would help build and operate the pilot system, produce test quantities of fuel, complete independent performance and lifecycle analysis, and determine whether the process can scale into a practical lower-carbon aviation fuel.
