In honor of America's 250th Birthday, the American Discovery Trail is host to a coast-to-coast relay that crosses the Golden Gate Bridge on the 4th of July, reaches Denver on Labor Day, is at the Mississippi in late September, passes Washington after Election Day, and reaches the Atlantic on Thanksgiving.
Participants of all ages and abilities will carry a baton and a copy of the Declaration of Independence the entire 6,800 mile route - with individuals, families, and groups traveling on foot or using a bicycle, wheelchair or horse. You can sign up to participate (the relay passes through 15 states!) or make a contribution, be it $68, $680, or some other amount.
