Why I'm Raising Funds for UCLA Brain Cancer Research

In 2026, brain cancer became deeply personal for our family.

My husband, Craig, was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Like so many families facing this disease, we've experienced the uncertainty, fear, and overwhelming number of decisions that come with a diagnosis no one is ever prepared to hear.

Through this journey, we've also witnessed something remarkable: the dedication of the physicians, researchers, and caregivers at UCLA who are working every day to improve outcomes for patients and families facing brain cancer.

UCLA's Brain Cancer Research Center brings together some of the nation's leading experts in neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, and brain tumor research. Their work is advancing personalized medicine, developing innovative treatments, improving quality of life for patients, and pursuing the ultimate goal of finding a cure. Researchers such as Dr. Linda Liau have helped lead groundbreaking advances in brain cancer treatment, demonstrating that meaningful progress is possible.

Brain cancer remains one of the most devastating cancers. Families facing glioblastoma often measure time differently, hoping that the next discovery, clinical trial, or breakthrough treatment will arrive soon enough to make a difference. That's why research matters.
