IDP Pharma: A New Option for Patients With Difficult-to-Treat Cancer

Description

Patients with multiple myeloma and small-cell lung cancer frequently relapse, become resistant to treatment, and eventually exhaust the medicines available to them.

Many of these cancers depend on a protein called cMyc to survive. Despite its importance across cancer, no direct cMyc protein inhibitor has been approved because the protein constantly changes shape and is extremely difficult for conventional drugs to reach.

IDP Pharma’s lead treatment is designed to enter cancer cells and cause them to destroy cMyc. The drug is already being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial, where company materials report that four dose levels have been tested without dose-limiting toxicities.

Support would directly help move this treatment into Phase II studies in multiple myeloma and small-cell lung cancer, giving researchers the opportunity to directly patients who are running out of options.

Contributions are generally eligible for a charitable tax-deduction and a yearly consolidated receipt will be provided by Daffy. Processing fees may be applied and will reduce the value available to send to the end charity. The recipient organizations have not provided permission for this listing and have not reviewed the content.

Donations to campaigns are distributed to the recipient charities on a weekly basis. In the rare event that Daffy is unable to fulfill the donation request to this charity, you will be notified and given the opportunity to choose another charity.
