Description

Our very dear friend and Mah-Jongg maven extraordinaire, Donna Taub, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a brief bout with pancreatic cancer on Friday, November 10th.

Donna was the cherished wife of retired pediatrician Eli Taub, the beloved mother of Ilana, David & his wife Michelle, and grandmother to Mettabel, Atalia and Zebulon. She also leaves behind her brother Neil, his wife and matchmaker Phyllis, their children Jason and Justin, as well as her sister and kindred spirit Lois and her children Amber and Alex.

Donna was a natural born teacher who adored her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed doting on them and planning for their secure and safe future. Donna's wanderlust took the Taubs all over the world and gave them a greater appreciation for the challenges faced by future generations.

Given the dedicated compassion Donna and Eli have consistently and generously expressed for children and the world they will face going forward, we have set up a campaign for the Simon Wiesenthal Center to honor Donna.

“My cause was justice, not vengeance. My work is for a better tomorrow and a more secure future for our children and grandchildren.” -- Simon Wiesenthal, 1908-2005

Thirty years ago, the Simon Wiesenthal Center founded The Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles, which acts as the Center’s educational arm.

More than 3.5 million children and youth have participated in the Museum experience and its programs, and almost 200,000 adults have been trained in the Museum’s customized professional development programs over the last 20 years.

A recipient of the Global Peace and Tolerance Award from the Friends of the United Nations, visitors to the Museum of Tolerance and Simon Wiesenthal Center have included American Presidents, Israeli Prime Ministers, Kings, and European and religious leaders, as well as numerous Nobel Laureates.

May Donna’s memory be a blessing to everyone who was lucky enough to know her and love her.
