Description
Many procedures used to treat atrial fibrillation, structural heart disease, and other cardiac conditions require physicians to cross the thin wall separating the heart’s upper chambers. Existing approaches can involve several devices and exchanges during an already delicate procedure. Indian Wells Medical has developed the One Shot STSN-RF, a steerable transseptal system that combines positioning and radiofrequency crossing in a single device while working with standard RF equipment already used in hospitals.
Indian Wells is completing prototypes, preclinical safety and reliability work, and preparation for an FDA 510(k) submission. The device is built around a practical procedural problem familiar to interventional cardiologists: reducing unnecessary exchanges and simplifying one of the technically demanding steps required before many modern cardiac interventions can even begin.
