Description
In May 2026, the World Health Organization declared the Bundibugyo ebolavirus (BDBV) outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern — one of the deadliest strains of Ebola, with still no licensed vaccine or treatment. Communities already weakened by conflict and displacement in eastern DRC are in a race against time.
Alliance for Medical Access (AMA) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 32-0841542) that channels emergency funding to vetted local partners in the DRC and the region to deliver rapid, accountable epidemic response where it is needed most.
Your gift to our Epidemic Rapid Response Fund (ERRF) helps our partners provide:
Personal protective equipment for frontline health workers
Diagnostic and laboratory capacity through our partner network
Community health worker training for early detection and safe isolation
Last-mile logistics to reach communities cut off from formal health systems

$50 helps equip a community health worker for a week on the frontline
$100 helps supply PPE for a health post
$250 helps fund diagnostic supplies for early detection
$500 funds a full training cycle for a community health worker team in an at-risk village
AMA operates with full transparency: we hold the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency and publish our financials publicly. 100% of funds designated to the ERRF are deployed to the field through our implementing partners.
