Empower Veterans and Children with Autism Through Service Dogs
Having spent over a year volunteering on the ground with Retrieving Freedom in Sedalia, Missouri, we have seen firsthand the incredible dedication, care, and rigorous training that goes into every single service dog in their program.
Retrieving Freedom, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to training service dogs for military veterans and children with autism. The journey to train a fully certified service dog takes up to two years and thousands of hours of specialized instruction—enabling these amazing animals to disrupt PTSD episodes, assist with mobility, provide deep-pressure therapy, and offer life-changing independence to their handlers.
Why We Are Raising Funds
Every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting the Sedalia facility’s vital operations, including:
Puppy Raising & Care: Food, essential veterinary care, and housing during early development.
Specialized Training: Professional instruction tailored specifically to the needs of veterans and children with autism.
Placement & Support: Ongoing support for matched dog-and-handler teams to ensure long-term success.
