Mission
P.G. Chambers School’s mission is to help children with disabilities access education, improve functional abilities that foster independence, and develop self-confidence. We accomplish this through programs that provide early intervention, special education and related therapies, and access to assistive technology, which can facilitate communication, movement, and learning. Our school program, which reaches more than 100 students, pre-school through eighth grade, provides the greater community a quality, innovative education option for children with disabilities whose home school districts cannot meet their educational and therapeutic needs. Our early intervention and community services programs provide education and direct therapy for hundreds of children with disabilities each year.
About
The Private School Program is a dynamic special education program for preschool and multiple-disabled students 3 to 14 years of age. Half-day preschool sessions help preschoolers develop the play, social and basic readiness skills that lay the foundation for future success in school. Classes for students with multiple disabilities meet the needs of children who are delayed in two or more developmental areas and include extra individualized therapy and special instruction. The Private School Program combines individualized educational programs and intensive physical, occupational and speech therapy services to enhance the developmental and learning skills of each student. The program enrolls approximately 115 students from an eleven county area of northern New Jersey and operates 210 school days per year.
