The HCFSC serves the mid-Klamath River with an emphasis on the Happy camp area. In 2018, the HCFSC completed fuels reduction work (thinning, pruning, and slash piling) on 340 acres and pile burning or chipping on 70 acres under two grants from the USDA FOREST SERVICE. HABITAT RESTORATION AND FUELS REDUCTION WORK WAS COMPLETED ON 1.5 ACRES WITH A PRIVATE LANDOWNER UNDER A CONTRACT WITH THE FISH & WILDLIFE SERVICES. COMPLETED PILE BURNING ON APROX. 20 ACRES WITH A CALFIRE GRANT. COMPLETED A GRANT WITH THE SISKIYOU COUNTY RESOURCE ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO PLACE 8 WATER TRANSK IN HAPPY CAMP AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO BE USED FOR EMERGENCY FIRE SUPPRESSION. WORK WAS COMPLETED ON A GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA FIRE SAFE COUNCIL TO UPDATE THE COMMUNITY WILDFIRE PROTECTIN PLAN FOR THE COMMUNITY OF HAPPY CAMP.
