Mission
Youth Alliance (YA) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit located in San Benito County, Gilroy & Morgan Hill, CA that strives to create thriving and equitable communities through comprehensive, innovative and culturally relevant services that equip youth and families to become change agents in their own lives and in their community. The agency was founded in 1995 and began as a grassroots effort of committed volunteers and has evolved into an agency that benefits over 13,000 children, youth, and their families each year. Youth Alliance services seek to provide a continuum of support that includes after-school, summer, and late night prevention programs, early intervention bilingual counseling and case management, intervention programs serving at-promise youth in the justice system, teen parents, etc., as well as parent and systems leaders engagement and education. Programs are located in targeted schools (16 sites) and neighborhoods in South Santa Clara and San Benito Counties. We believe that to develop strong youth leaders, we must work to build safe and equitable systems and communities. This work is best done in partnership with youth, families, and stakeholders. YA prioritizes youth leadership and mentorship opportunities to support building youth power, access to education and employment, parent engagement & community mobilization. Youth Alliance utilizes a relationship based outreach model within a framework of youth development, culturally responsive family and personal healing, and social equity to engage, empower, and coalesce resources.
