Mission

OUR MISSION IS TO RESCUE, REHABILITATE AND RE-HOME EQUINE IN NEED, TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT PROPER HORSE CARE, TO PROVIDE INFORMATION REGARDING THE STEPS THAT MUST BE TAKEN WHEN ONE ENCOUNTERS AN EQUINE THAT IS BEING ABUSED OR NEGLECTED, TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE, WHEN POSSIBLE, TO HORSE OWNERS EXPERIENCING A SHORT PERIOD OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP AND TO HELP HUMANS THROUGH HELPING HORSES.

About

OUR ORGANIZATION RESCUED, REHABILITATED, AND ADOPTED OUT MANY EQUINES AND A FEW OTHER NON-EQUINE ANIMALS IN 2018 AND CONTINUED TO PROVIDE SANCTUARY FOR MANY WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. THE AVERAGE ON-SITE HORSE COUNT WAS 36. OUR FOCUS WAS NOT ONLY ON A RESCUED ANIMALS PHYSICAL CONDITION AND REHABILITATION, BUT ALSO IN PROVIDING THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR THEIR MENTAL DEVELOPMENT, GROWTH, AND HEALING. DUE TO LIMITED SPACE AND RESOURCES, WHEN WE COULD NOT TAKE A HORSE IN NEED INTO OUR PROGRAM, WE NETWORKED WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AND PEOPLE TO TRY TO FIND SAFE SOLUTIONS. WE ASSISTED OWNERS EXPERIENCING A SHORT TERM HARDSHIP TO KEEP THEIR EQUINE BY PROVIDING SHORT TERM FEED OR VET CARE FOR THEIR HORSES AND, IN SOME EMERGENCY CASES WHERE IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT A HORSE WAS SUFFERING, WE PROVIDED RESOURCES FOR HUMANE EUTHANASIA. WE SHARE OUR EQUINE RESIDENTS WITH PEOPLE THAT HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS SUCH AS AUTISM, PTSD, ADHD, ANXIETY AND SLEEP DISORDERS, DEPRESSION, AND SOME WITH PHYSICAL CHALLENGES. THIS HELPS PEOPLE WITH SELF-CONFIDENCE, INDEPENDENCE, EMOTIONAL AWARENESS AND MORE. THIS IS AN AREA WE HOPE TO EXPAND ON WITH THOSE THAT ARE DISABLED OR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, PEOPLE THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED PHYSICAL AND/OR EMOTIONAL ABUSE, AT-RISK YOUTH, AND VETERANS. WE ALSO TEACH NEW VOLUNTEERS THAT HAVE LITTLE TO NO EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH EQUINES HOW TO FEED, GROOM, AND CARE FOR EQUINES.
