Major Hospital Funding: During 2018, the foundation contributed $800,000 to Major Hospital for the construction of the MHP Medical Center. This is the third of five payments scheduled for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. The foundation also granted $5,000 to the hospital to help support the clinical relationship with IUPUC. This relationship will help MHP reach its goal of 80 percent of MHP nurses having a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree by 2020. Studies show that in hospitals with a greater number of nurses who hold a BSN, the quality of care increases. The grant also will provide doctoral nurses for research projects and higher level consulting at MHP. The foundation also disbursed $12,000 from the Jacqueline Joseph Fund to create a time capsule display in the MHP main concourse.
