Study Companions Program - The cornerstone of Casa De Amistad is its study companions program. Study companions is an educational mentoring program designed to improve the academic achievement of children in grades K-12. Students participating in Casa De Amistad are from school districts throughout coastal North County San Diego. The students are matched with volunteer mentors with whom they meet two evenings per week during the school year. During these meetings the mentors help the students with homework and study skills. There were approximately 240 volunteer tutors and even more students, as well as a waiting list with approximately 65 names.
