In October 2018 parts of Northwest Florida were devastated by a category 5 hurricane named Michael. School districts and families were critically impacted through the loss of structures including school buildings and homes. Many families were without needed food, clothing, shelter, and everyday necessities. Through donations made both directly and indirectly to the foundation it provided both monetary and material assistance to schools and families. Clothing was taken to schools and homes, assistance was provided to repair migrant homes, monetary assistance was provided to schools for needed supplies that were destroyed in the storm, and schools used some of the funds to directly assist families with
