To provide a helping hand to a sustainable life through resources, recovery, and reentry. Helping Hands serves the homeless, providing emergency food and shelter relief and long-term, program-based transitional housing in 4 counties in Oregon.

Helping Hands provides services to individuals in crisis situations, including case management, temporary and transitional housing, food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, and life skill classes. During 2018, over 1,000 adults and children were served. Nearly 400 received assistance with recovery from substance abuse, domestic violence, and other health issues. Emergency shelter was provided for about 700 persons utilizing 15,000 bunk/nights. Approximately 19,000 meals were served to persons needing assistance. Staff and program clients provided over 12,000 hours of community service.Helping Hands acquired a new facility in Astoria, Oregon, which opened for service in November 2018.
