The editors & publishers community leadership program, celebrated its 14th year in 2018. The program is funded in part by a generous grant from the Blandin Foundation. Each year, editor-publisher teams who want to develop their community leadership and vision skills are invited to take part in the program. Participants learn about the nine dimensions of a healthy community and develop skills in framing, social capital and mobilization. Participants also develop a community leadership project as part of the program, challenging them to directly apply the skills learned in the program to a challenge or situation in their hometowns. MNI hosted its second E & P alumni workshop. Attendees have the opportunity to update fellow alumni on the status of their community engagement work, meet with peers in balcony groups, discuss and receive feedback and guidance on common issues, have dedicated time for reflection.
