THE ORGANIZATION OPERATES A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR DETROIT PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS AFTER SCHOOL, ON THE WEEKEND, AND DURING THE SUMMER. OVERALL, THERE ARE SEVEN MAIN PROGRAM COMPONENTS, INCLUDING SQUASH INSTRUCTION AND COMPETITION, FITNESS DEVELOPMENT, ACADEMIC TUTORING, LITERACY DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNITY SERVICE, SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES, AND MENTORING.KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THIS PROGRAM INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:1. ENROLLMENT AND ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT OF 110 STUDENTS2. GREATER THAN 85 PERCENT ATTENDANCE AT OUT-OF-SCHOOL-TIME SESSIONS3. OVER 80 PERCENT RETENTION OF STUDENTS ENROLLED FROM YEAR ONE TO YEAR TWO4. 100 PERCENT PROMOTION RATE FROM GRADE TO GRADE FOR PARTICIPANTS5. DEEP ENGAGEMENT OF PARTICIPANTS IN THE SPORT OF SQUASH, LEADING TO INTENSIVE EXERCISE THREE DAYS EACH WEEK FOR THE DURATION OF THE SCHOOL YEAR6.
