Since September 2015 when Zahra Charity founded and funded the MAIR neuro-rehabilitation clinic, work has been continuous and operations grew steadily. More staff members were hired and more needy patients were given an opportunity to recover from devastating neurological conditions. This includes adults with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain tumors, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and many other conditions. MAIR clinic also treat kids (65% of total patients being treated) with the vast majority being diagnosed with cerebral palsy. There are also many kids with hydrocephalus, spina bifida, autism, traumatic brain injuries and stroke.Many of the patients treated at MAIR are poor with no access to any medical insurance. They are receiving free neuro-rehabilitation services at MAIR. This includes adults with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke, brain tumors, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis and many other conditions. MAIR is also sponsoring housing for three patients who came from distant cities. This is being done in collaboration with a local NGO that owns the housing facility of providing MAIR patients considerable discounts.MAIR is also funding many medical tests for needy patients, which are needed at start of neuro-rehabilitation program at MAIR and/or tests that may be required after this program started (e.g., xrays, MRIs, CTs, blood work for food poisoning, fever infections, hypertension condition and others).MAIR continues to sponsor medical training of local therapists by US medical professionals.
