AS GUARDIAN OF THE PERSON ONLY, APSI MAKES DAY-TO-DAY DECISIONS ON BEHALF OF THE INDIVIDUAL, ADDRESSING MATTERS SUCH AS LIVING ARRANGEMENTS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND MEDICAL CARE. APSI DOES NOT SERVE AS GUARDIAN OF THE ESTATE, WHICH COVERS THE INDIVIDUAL'S FINANCES AND PROPERTY.THIS YEAR, APSI SERVED 3,602 INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT OHIO. APSI STAFF ARE COMMITTED TO ENHANCING AN INDIVIDUAL'S LIFESTYLE IN A WAY THAT BEST SUPPORTS INDIVIDUAL NEEDS AND PREFERENCES WHILE PROTECTING THE PERSON FROM HARM. APSI PROVIDES GUARDIANSHIP SERVICES ACCORDING TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE INDIVIDUAL, WHICH MEANS THE COURSE OF ACTION THAT MAXIMIZES WHAT IS BEST FOR THE PERSON WITH CONSIDERATION OF THE LEAST INTRUSIVE, MOST NORMALIZING, AND LEAST RESTRICTIVE COURSE OF ACTION POSSIBLE GIVEN THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL.
