EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: NATIONAL 4-H COUNCIL PLAYS AN ESSENTIAL ROLE IN SUPPORTING 4-H AS PART OF A UNIQUE AND INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH AMERICA'S COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SYSTEM AND THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FOOD AND AGRICULTURE WITHIN THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. AS THE NATION'S LARGEST YOUTH DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION, 4-H BELIEVES IN THE POWER OF YOUNG PEOPLE. WE RECOGNIZE THAT EVERY CHILD HAS VALUABLE STRENGTHS AND CAN HAVE REAL POTENTIAL TO IMPROVE THE WORLD. 4-H PROVIDES THE KINDS OF EXPERIENCES THAT EMPOWER YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE SKILLS TO LEAD FOR A LIFETIME. THIS IS THE 4-H POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT APPROACH THAT IS PROVEN TO GROW LIFE SKILLS. 4-H REACHES NEARLY SIX MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH COOPERATIVE EXTENSION - A COMMUNITY OF 110 PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES AND MORE THAN 3,000 LOCAL OFFICES. PROGRAMS ARE DELIVERED BY MORE THAN 3,500 TRAINED 4-H PROFESSIONALS AND NEARLY 500,000 VOLUNTEERS WHO SERVE EVERY COUNTY AND PARISH IN THE COUNTRY.
