The Resurrection Project's mission is to build relationships and challenge individuals to act on their faith and values by creating community ownership, building community wealth, and by serving as stewards of community assets.

About

Community Ownership: Programs awakens individuals sense of ownership and pride in their communities, enabling residents to be agents of change in their communities, schools, and parishes. TRP develops in individuals the skills, knowledge, and tools to be confident, engaged residents. Through community organizing, leadership development, health access and navigation, and educational supportive services, TRPs Community Ownership programs reach over 10,000 individuals in 2018. La Casa Student Housing housed 136 students pursuing a higher education degree in academic year 2017-2018 (August 2017 to June 2018) and 53 students by 2018 year-end. TRP provided support to 304 college-aged students through workshops related to STEM, writing tutoring, and homework support. Another 51 middle school and high school students completed TRPs 2018 Summer of Power, which included trips to local college campuses. TRPs Education Programs promoted academic achievement and enrichment opportunities, reaching 267 middle school students and their parents. Staff connected 185 students and their parents to dental, vision, and mental health services through on-site dental and vision clinics, social-emotional counseling, and art therapy. Through 611 one-on-one health education sessions, TRPs ELLAS (En La Lucha a Sobrevivir or In the Fight to Survive) program provided 535 referrals for mammogram and cervical cancer screening. TRP also incorporated HOPE Family Services into its operations in 2018. HOPE annually provides comprehensive, trauma-informed services to 1,110 women experiencing domestic violence. In 2018, TRPs immigration services reached 5,031 individuals in Chicagos Immigrant communities through Know Your Rights trainings. In addition, TRP conducted 994 legal screenings sessions on immigration-related topics U.S citizenship (316) Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (480), and other forms of relief 198). TRP, also, filed 624 first-time and renewal DACA, citizenship, and other applications.
