THE APARTMENTS GENERALLY ARE LEASED FOR ONE-YEAR TERMS AND ARE REGULATED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) AS TO RENTS AND OPERATING METHODS. CERTAIN CAPITAL COSTS NOT APPROVED BY HUD HAVE BEEN FUNDED BY A $614,141 ADVANCE FROM THE THRESHOLDS. THOSE FUNDS WILL BE RECORDED AS A CAPITAL CONTRIBUTION AND WILL NOT BE REPAID TO THE THRESHOLDS FOR AT LEAST FORTY YEARS. THE PROJECT'S ACTIVITIES ARE CONTROLLED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE THRESHOLDS, A RELATED NONPROFIT SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCY WHICH PROVIDES REHABILITATIVE SERVICES TO FORMER MENTAL PATIENTS AND ALSO PROVIDES CERTAIN MANAGEMENT, ACCOUNTING, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES AND OFFICE FACILITIES TO THE PROJECT FOR WHICH A MANAGEMENT FEE IS CHARGED.
