Mission

Vida Verde Nature Education promotes educational equity by providing free, overnight, environmental learning experiences for students who don't otherwise get the opportunity.

About

Vida Verde Nature Education provides environmental/farm education primarily for students from low-income regions of the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2019, Vida Verde served over 750 students ages 10 - 12 from public schools in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Daly City, Oakland, Richmond, San Pablo, San Jose, and Hayward. Vida Verde's three day two night core program is specifically designed to positively and powerfully impact students and their connection to the outdoors, academics, and social and emotional learning. Each class trip during the school year is an activity packed experience that takes place at our 100 acre camp, farm, and various state parks and beaches along the San Mateo County coastline. Students stay busy and engaged with dozens of hands on activities, from milking a goat and using that milk to make fresh cheese, to exploring tide pools, hiking through redwoods, and discovering the incredible animals and plants thriving in those ecosystems.
