Community engagement for veterans & families of the fallen: Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) Spartan members, led by veterans and families of the fallen, unite communities to strengthen America's national character. Through Operation Legacy service projects, TMF members share the legacy of character of fallen heroes through organizing large scale community service projects that unite veterans, survivors, young adults, and inspired civilians to address their community's greatest need. Operation Legacy service projects are executed throughout the year with focused campaigns in both April and November that activated over 8,000 participants in 280 locations to serve in 2019. TMF also activates communities through a national 5K race series, the 9/11 Heroes Run. See Schedule O for continuation. These community events are organized in more than 90 locations with more than 60,000 participants annually--both nationally and internationally--to honor the heroes of 9/11 and the wars since.
