OUR CORE SERVICES ARE INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY SUPPORT, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY WHICH ARE PROVIDED FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS. A MAJORITY OF THE PEOPLE WE SUPPORT ARE ON SOME TYPE OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT PROGRAM, SUCH AS THE WAIVERS, SOCIAL SECURITY AND/OR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE. THROUGH OUR CORE SERVICES WE ASSIST FAMILIES WITH THE INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLAN PROCESS, INCLUDING ATTENDING MEETINGS IF NEEDED. WE OFFER A VARIETY OF SUPPORT GROUPS FOR TEENS, ADULTS AND PARENTS, ALONG WITH EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY SKILL BUILDING. WE OFFER EXTREME PARENTING GROUPS AND SUPPORT SELF ADVOCATES OF MINNESOTA THROUGH THE ARC NORTHLAND PEOPLE FIRST GROUP, WHERE THE OBJECTIVE IS PROVIDING CAMARADERIE, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY DEVELOPMENT . WE PROVIDE INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES SHARING RESOURCES ABOUT OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS WHEN NECESSARY. WE CONNECT INDIVIDUALS AND PARENTS WITH THOSE WHO HAVE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES WITH THE GOAL OF ASSISTING PEOPLE IN BECOMING AS INDEPENDENT AS POSSIBLE. ADDITIONALLY, AS DETERMINED BY THE PERSON'S PERSONAL INTERESTS AND ASPIRATIONS, WE ASSIST WITH THEM SUCCESSFULLY BEING CONNECTED WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITY OF CHOICE. ARC NORTHLAND ALSO PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: 1. PCA CHOICE SERVICES WHERE SUPPORT IS GIVEN TO AN INDIVIDUAL WHO NEEDS IN-HOME CARE FOR THEIR PERSONAL NEEDS. 2. HOUSING ACCESS SERVICES AND COORDINATION FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO NEED ASSISTANCE WITH ACQUIRING HOUSING, HOUSEHOLD PROVISIONS, ETC. SO THEY HAVE WHAT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE A QUALITY HOME TO LIVE IN. ADDITIONALLY, THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES, WE CONDUCT QUALITY OF LIFE INTERVIEWS TO FACILITATE THE OUTCOMES OF ARC NORTHLAND'S ARROWHEAD REGIONAL QUALITY COUNCIL. THE TWO-MEMBER TEAM MEET DIRECTLY WITH INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT NORTHEAST MINNESOTA AND ASK QUESTIONS THAT PERTAIN TO HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT THE SERVICES THEY ARE RECEIVING FROM RESIDENTIAL, VOCATIONAL AND COUNTY SERVICES, AND SUPPLY THAT INFORMATION BACK TO THE STATE. ALL SERVICES ARE BASED ON THE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES IN EITHER ST. LOUIS, CARLTON, LAKE OR COOK COUNTIES. ARC NORTHLANDS COLLABORATES WITH ALL OF THE COUNTY HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENTS IN OUR SERVICE AREA; AS WELL AS, THE STATE OF MINNESOTA AND OTHER LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ENSURE THAT QUALITY SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE AND PROVIDED TO THOSE IN NEED OF SUPPORT.
