Mercy Hospital Jefferson consists of a 321 bed licensed facility which provides a wide range of services. In fiscal year 2019, the following services were provided 45,793 patient days, 477 deliveries, 36,602 emergency visits, 1,562 inpatient surgeries and 3,526 outpatient surgery procedures.Mercy Hospital Jefferson is committed to providing educational programs to the community. Free seminars and presentations are provided on a wide variety of health issues which impact patients and their families. Free services are also offered to the community such as lipid, cholesterol, bone density and glucose screenings as well as hearing and memory screenings.It is the policy of Mercy Hospital Jefferson to provide uncompensated care to patients in need of financial assistance in accordance with the hospital's established guidelines and without regard to race, religion, sex, age, or national origin. The cost, net of any payment received (net cost), to MHJ of providing care to persons qualifying for Charity/ Medicaid, and to elderly and disabled patients under the Medicare program totaled $12,473,966 in the year ended 6/30/19. These amounts do not include the cost of health activities and programs to support the community, health education programs and other community support activities.
