Pastor conferences in Thailand (Chiang Rai)B&P conducts numerous training seminars for current full-time pastors (akin to continuing education for adults) by guestspeakers, as well as by our own pastoral staff. In 2018, we hosted 8 training seminars in Chiang Rai, withover 110 pastors attending each time. We also conducted 12 training seminars in different parts of China, with over420 pastors attending in 2018. In 2018 we carried out several renovation projects of our facilities in Chiang Rai. Also we purchased a new piece of land behind our current property where we will build a new structure to include a new kitchen and dining hall, an auditorium and meeting rooms. Bible School SupportBibles schools in China allow US supporters to participate in what the Lord is doing around the world through providingopportunities to assist and train Chinese believers to minister more effectively. Our Bible Schools are aimed towardyounger, full-time pastors-in-training. Students engage in Bible and theological studies full time for 2 years which includetimes for practicum and pastoral apprenticeship. In 2018, we provided monthly support for 5 schools across China.Graduates from these Bible schools usually are in full time ministry, working as church planters or pastors in localchurches. Church Plants/Pastor Support US donors facilitate the establishment of local church bodies in China by supporting Chinese church planters in differentcities for a maximum of 3 years. This support allows the church planters to rent a facility if needed, as well as support thechurch until its membership grows and allows for sustainability. In 2018, we provided monthly support for 80 churchplanters, at $100 USD per month, for 12 months. Bibles and Training MaterialsBibles and other Christian material are not always easily accessible or affordable within China. US donors are able toprovide Bibles for pastors at the costs of $3 per Bible. B& P also sponsors the cost of printing Biblecommentaries and leadership and discipleship materials, as well as distribution of the materials to supported pastors andchurches. Short Term Mission TripsThe political climate continues to be intense in China and short term mission trips were not held during 2018. Other opportunities were available for travelers to volunteer/teach in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Hani CenterOur Hani Center in the Yunnan Province of China is in operation since the end of 2017. We also added a simple kitchenand dining room for our guests and those who come to be trained. We provide the facilities to train local minority groups,including the Hani people, in Biblical studies and tea cultivation. This will provide spiritual and physical sustainability.Some of the guest rooms will also be offered to tourists looking for accommodations, bringing in additional support for theHani Center and its ministries. This Center has been made possible through US donors whose passion is providingsustainability to people in China. Man Hong Ministry partnership in Hong KongIn 2018, we've partnered with Man Hong ministry in Hong Kong to provide organic farm training to local schools. Using the schoolsroof tops, we've helped build small roof top gardens for the schools, teaching them organic farming using worm castings as fertilizer. Aquaponics Farm Training in Thailandwe've setup an aquaponics system to teach sustainable farming through the raising of fish and vegetables in a symbiotic environment. We are currently teaching the Chinese pastors on the subject, with many becoming interested in bringing theknowledge back to their hometowns to try out. We also are planning to train local Thai people in aquaponics as well, so they canraise edible fish and grow vegetables in their yards without taking up too much space.
