Mission
Girls Rock Santa Barbara! is a non-profit organization that empowers girls through music and creative arts, promoting an environment that fosters self-confidence, creativity, and teamwork. GRSB challenges gender stereotypes, encourages collaboration and tolerance among peers, and provides a comfortable space for girls of all backgrounds to express themselves. Through music lessons, workshops, group activities, and performance, girls learn skills that help guide them throughout their lives.
About
Since its inception in 2012, over 500 original songs have been written by more than 3000 participants. During five weeks of summer 2017 camps, between day camp and sleep away camp, a total of 286 girls were served. In the spring of 2018 a sliding scale of $0-$100 was introduced for the music and photography after school program serving 126 girls in Santa Barbara County (grew from 110 in 2017), which took place over 13 weeks at the McKenzie Adult Building. GRL Mag named our summer camp one of the ten best sleepaway camps for girls in the US and Moms LA named our summer camp one of the top ten camps in the area.
