In 2018 we continued our work as a key technology provider and partner for educational initiatives operating in low-resource contexts all around the world. Major program service accomplishments include:Ongoing development of the Kolibri ecosystem, a set of interacting products that includes our open-source application built to enable seamless authoring, peer-to-peer sharing, and engagement with a library of educational content from sources all over the web, all available completely offline, on low-cost devices. Our education technology platforms have reached over 6 million people in more than 200 countries and territories.Continuation of the Kolibri Hardware Grant Program, with funding for 38 organizations in 2018. These grants help organizations purchase the hardware they need to use Kolibri in formal schools, educational facilities, and non-formal learning settings where they reach youth as well as adult learners.
