About this organization
Mission
Mavuno empowers local leaders to end extreme poverty in Eastern Congo. We envision a peaceful and prosperous Congo where all people have the opportunity to create their own future. We undertake grassroots economic empowerment programs, providing agricultural development services.
About
Mavuno scaled its programming in 2 additional villages with the construction of Center for Rural Development (CRD) designed to teach farmers how to be more productive and best take advantage of agricultural resources around them. The CRD allowed 300 farmers to learn agricultural best practices, and significantly expanded their food crop and animal production. Mavuno continued to support households by providing various forms of financing, expert training and access to market.Mavuno implemented a project funded by USAID through TEARFUND and trained 4000 farmers of Internally displaced individuals (IDPs) in the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri in Eastern DR Congo.
