Our largest multi-year campaigns to empower local food economies were achieved via Lexicon pop up information art shows and through an expanded education effort conducted in elementary and high school classrooms via Lexicon's education outreach program Project Localize. In 2016, the Lexicon of Food Newsreader grew its readership among a curated list of editors to expand the online reach of the Lexicon of Food. This program supports both pop up information art shows and Project Localize as a resource. Proyecto Localiza continued expansion in Mexico building curricula with schools and NGOs and organizing public pop up information art shows with students from three regions. Also in 2016, in collaboration with the USDA, the Lexicon began a campaign for organics and supporting transitioning farmers across the USA with information art, social media and short format videos. The Lexicon advised and contributed to the campaign with advisory, network and editorial expertise.
