THE ABRAHAMIC REUNION WORKS TO BUILD SUSTAINABLE PEACE WITH DIVERSE FAITH COMMUNNITIES IN THE HOLY LAND. WE FOSTER HARMONY BY EXPLORING COMMON ABRAHAMIC VALUES IN ORDER TO CREATE DEEP AND LASTYING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE.

HOLY LAND PROJECTS: THE ABRAHAMIC REUNION PLANS AND COORDINATES PEACEBUILDING EVENTS AND PROJECTS IN ISRAEL AND PALESTINE. THESE ARE MULTI-FAITH GATHERINGS BRINGING TOGETHER JEWS, MUSLIMS, CHRISTIANS AND DRUZE FAITH BELIEVERS AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS; PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE PALESTINIAN RESIDENTS AND ISRAELI CITIZENS. THESE EVENTS CREATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENCOUNTER THE OTHER THROUGH THEIR FAITHS, RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS AND TEXTS, DINNERS, VISITS TO RELIGIOUS SITES, AND DIALOGUE. THESE ACTIVITIES FACILITATE THE BUILDING OF TRUST AND CONNECTIONS WITH EACH OTHER, FOSTERING POSITIVE EXPERIENCES WITH THE ULTIMATE GOALS OF CREATING HOPE, UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION IN ORDER TO BUILD A SAFER AND MORE PEACEFUL HOLY LAND. A SMALL SAMPLE OF THESE EVENTS FOLLOWS: IN JANUARY, ABOUT 40 PEOPLE (PRIMARILY JEWS AND CHRISTIANS) CAME TOGETHER AT JAFFA GATE FOR JANUARY'S PRAYING TOGETHER IN JERUSALEM EVENT. IN FEBRUARY: -70 PEOPLE JOINED THE ABRAHAMIC REUNION'S SOUTH JOURNEY TO MEET RELIGIOUS, PEACE AND ECOLOGY LEADERS IN COMMUNITIES IN THE NEGEV AND GAZA BORDER REGION. JOINING US WERE JEWS, CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS, RABBIS AND SHEIKHS, MEN AND WOMEN, INCLUDING PALESTINIANS FROM EAST JERUSALEM, NABLUS, JERICHO, BETHLEHEM AND HEBRON, ISRAELIS FROM JERUSALEM, AND THE NEGEV, AND STUDENTS FROM AN INTERNATIONAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION COURSE AT TEL AVIV UNIVERSITY. -40 PEOPLE CAME TOGETHER FOR THE MONTHLY PRAYING TOGETHER IN JERUSALEM EVENT; THIS FOLLOWED A TRIP IN THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM EARLIER IN THE DAY FOR ABOUT 20 PALESTINIANS. IN MARCH, ABOUT 35 PEOPLE GATHERED TOGETHER FOR THE MONTHLY PRAYING TOGETHER IN JERUSALEM EVENT. IN JUNE: -THE 14TH ANNUAL MULTI-FAITH IFTAR DINNER SPONSORED BY THE ABRAHAMIC REUNION WAS HELD IN THE DRUZE TOWN OF DALIAT EL CARMEL, ISRAEL WITH 265 PARTICIPANTS EQUALLY DIVIDED BETWEEN THE FOUR MAJOR FAITHS. -THE 1ST MULTI-FAITH IFTAR DINNER SPONSORED BY THE ABRAHAMIC REUNION WAS HELD IN JERICHO IN THE WEST BANK AND WAS ATTENDED BY 70 PEOPLE. IN AUGUST, THE AR SPONSORED: -A SACRED TEXT STUDY ON "THE HOLINESS OF LIFE" WITH 40 PARTICIPANTS, PRIMARILY CHRISTIANS AND MUSLIMS, HELD IN A RESTAURANT IN JERICHO. -A FAMILY FORUM EVENT IN THE NIGUN HALEV COMMUNITY IN KIBBUTZ GVAT, JEWS, MUSIMS AND DRUZE WERE IN ATTENDANCE; ACTIVITIES INCLUDED A STUDY OF RUMI'S POETRY, A MEAL, AND PLAYING MUSIC. IN SEPTEMBER, THE AR SPONSORED: -A WOMEN'S PROGRAM IN AMGHAR VILLAGE WITH 70 WOMEN AND 7 MEN ATTENDING. (A TOTAL OF 4 WOMEN'S PROGRAMS DURING 2018, BRINGING TOGETHER 430 WOMEN.) -A FAMILIES FORUM IN THE ELIAKIM FOREST, COMPLETE WITH A BARBEQUE, MUSIC AND DANCING; 71 PEOPLE ATTENDED, INCLUDING SOME FROM EACH OF THE FOUR MAJOR HOLY LAND RELIGIONS. (A TOTAL OF 4 FAMILIES FORUMS WITH NEARLY 300 PARTICIPANTS.) -A COMBINED TEXT STUDY AND YOUTH PROGRAM IN JERICHO WITH 85 PARTICIPANTS, INCLUDING SAMARITANS. (A TOTAL OF ABOUT 500 PARTICIPANTS AT THESE STUDIES.) IN DECEMBER, THE AR ORGANIZED AN INTERFAITH CHRISTMAS PARTY IN BETHLEHEM, WITH MUSLIM, SAMARITAN AND CHRISTIAN FAMILIES (OVER 100 PEOPLE) SINGING CAROLS IN ARABIC, LINE-DANCING, ALONG WITH A SPECIAL VISIT BY SANTA CLAUS.
