Spiritual and social development: Eden Mission has over 250 couples going through our spiritual empowerment program in the countries of Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. These families are enrolled in a discipleship program led by a team of trained pastors. The focus is on a biblical marriage. The goal is to equip participants with a true gospel worldview guided by the biblical word of God. This has been critically important in these countries due to the rampant teaching of false doctrines by unscrupulous church leaders, encouraging their members to stray. Once the marriage is on solid footing, we continue programmed social development focusing the training in the areas of child development, parenting and community relations. Due to limited educational opportunities and a high illiteracy rate, local governments have struggled to teach basic child development principles and community wellness. As a result of our training we have heard amazing testimonies of improved parent/child relationships and the reconciliation of broken marriages.
