Support of public libraries in the Coachella Valley - 2,000 grants are given to each of the 13 libraries for a total of 26,000. A set of author's books is given to each library - value 2,400 13 librarians attend the grant luncheon - 1,050 To encourage the love of reading in young people, 18 students and 2 faculty members from 10 local schools are invited to meet privately with the featured author for an hour prior to attending the luncheon at which the author addresses the membership.
