The mission of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life for those living and working in the city of Charlottesville and the surrounding counties of Albemarle, Greene, Orange, Louisa, Fluvanna, Buckingham and Nelson.

Through our discretionary grants program, we continue to build our grantmaking practice and document our success. In 2018, our enriching communities grants supported a wide range of local services and activities, increasing total funds awarded to $750,000 to 81 nonprofits. We also awarded 42 Heal Charlottesville grants totaling $1 million.
