THE DAVIS AQUAMONSTERS IS A GRASS ROOTS SWIM TEAM THAT OFFERS SWIMMERS A VARIETY OF OPTIONS AND IS FOR CHILDREN FROM AGE 5-18. THE SUCCESS OF THE TEAM IS DUE TO THE CORE VALUE OF EVERY SWIMMER IS IMPORTANT REGARDLESS OF TALENT AND SPEED. EVERY MONSTER MATTERS TRULY DESCRIBES THE AQUAMONSTERS TEAM. THERE ARE THREE CORE WAYS WE TRAIN CHILDREN TO ENJOY A LIFELONG EJOYMENT OF THE SPORT OF SWIMMING. 1) LEARN TO SWIM - 2) RECREATIIONAL COMPETITION AND 3) YEAR ROUND TRAINING. OUR PROGRAM SERVED OVER 425 SWIMMERS IN THE DAVIS AREA IN 2018.THE TEAM FOCUS IS ON TEACHING SWIMMING VIA AGE APPROPRIATE STROKE AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT. THE COACHES WORK ON IMPROVING FITNESS FOR EACH OF THE SWIMMERS AND WE ENCOURAGE MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES.COMPETITION - SWIMMERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO COMPETE BUT IT IS NOT REQUIRED. THE AQUAMONSTERS SWIM COMPETITIVELY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE LOCAL DUAL MEETS, INVITATIONAL MEETS AND WE PARTICIPATE IN THE SACRAMENTO MEET OF CHAMPIONS AND HOST THE LOCAL SUMMER CLASSIC MEET. IN LINE WITH OUR MISSION, THE AQUAMONSTERS ALSO PROVIDE SWIMMING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR OVER 28 SWIMMERS DUE TO ECONOMIC NEED AND THE AQUAMONSTERS FULLY INTEGRATE CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS INTO OUR PEOGRAM AND HELP THEM BUILD SKILLS AND FITNESS DESPITE THEIR DISABILITIES, WE FOCUS ON WHAT THEY CAN DO AND NOT WHAT THEY CAN'T DO.
