BACH COLLEGIUM SAN DIEGO IS A PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA AND CHORUS, PRESENTING HISTORICALLY-INFORMED PERFORMANCES TO AUDIENCES THROUGHOUT SAN DIEGO COUNTY. DURING THE 2017-2018 SEASON, BACH COLLEGIUM SAN DIEGO PRESENTED FOURTEEN PUBLIC PERFORMANCES, INCLUDING NINE MAINSTAGE PROGRAMS IN SAN DIEGO AND FIVE ADMISSION-FREE BACH AT NOON PROGRAMS IN POINT LOMA. AUDIENCES SERVED INCLUDED 2,552 PAID TICKET HOLDERS TO MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCES AND APPROXIMATELY 500 FREE ATTENDEES TO BACH AT NOON. THERE ARE NOW 10 BOARD MEMBERS. MAINSTAGE CONCERTS INCLUDED A PROGRAM OF PASTORAL OPERA BY HANDEL, ACIS AND GALATEA HANDEL'S COMPLETE MESSIAH, A COLLECTION OF VOCAL MASTERPIECES CENTERING ON DOMENICO SCARLATTI'S STABAT MATER, AND BACH'S SUPREMELY CRAFTED MOTET JESU, MEINE FREUDE. LASTLY, WE PERFORMED A PROGRAM OF PURCELL TITLED WELCOME TO ALL THE PLEASURES. MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCES WERE PRESENTED IN A NUMBER OF ACOUSTICALLY-EXCELLENT VENUES IN VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT SAN DIEGO. EACH PROGRAM WAS REPEATED TWICE OR THREE TIMES, FOR A TOTAL OF NINE PERFORMANCES. AN AVERAGE OF 30 MUSICIANS PERFORMED EACH MAINSTAGE SERIES.BACH AT NOON WAS PRESENTED IN POINT LOMA AT ALL SOULS' EPISCOPAL CHURCH WHERE THERE ARE EXCELLENT ACOUSTICS AND A SUPERB PIPE ORGAN. THE ADMISSION-FREE FORMAT OF BACH AT NOON ALLOWED PEOPLE OF A VARIETY OF DEMOGRAPHICS TO ENJOY WORLD CLASS HISTORICALLY-INFORMED PERFORMANCES. EACH PROGRAM WAS PERFORMED BY 4-8 MUSICIANS, AND FEATURED CHAMBER WORKS BY BACH AND OTHERS.
