Instructional Services: Nova Southeastern University (NSU) offers undergraduate degrees, graduate and first professional degrees, and certificate programs to more than 20,000 full-time and part-time students in a wide range of fields, including the humanities, biological and environmental sciences, business, counseling, computer and information sciences, conflict resolution, education, family therapy, medicine, dentistry, various other health professions, law, marine science, performing and visual arts, psychology, and other social sciences. Courses are taught at 4 South Florida campuses; 8 regional campus locations, including Puerto Rico; and at sites in 13 states, as well as foreign countries. In January, the magazine also recognized three NSU online programs as being among the nation's best. In December 2017, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) reaffirmed NSU's accreditation for another 10 years. NSU welcomed its largest, and most highly academically qualified, undergraduate class in fall 2017. The Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine, created in fiscal 2016 to help meet the growing need for physicians regionally and nationally, received preliminary accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the organization that accredits M.D. programs in the United States and Canada. This is a significant milestone that allows the new medical school to accept an inaugural class of 50 students into its Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) program for the fall 2018 term. NSU is now one of only three universities in the United States with two medical colleges. On January 3, 2018, the university announced that the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine received approval from the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) for a class of 150 students to begin studying at an additional site leased by NSU in Clearwater, Florida, in the fall of 2019.
