About

The 2019 Annual Fellowship Dinner was held on March 7, 2019, at The Breakers Palm Beach. The evening started with a reception followed by dinner and the program. Barbara Brown Taylor, theologian, professor, Episcopal priest, and award-winning author of 14 books, was the keynote speaker on the topic "The Hyphen Between Us." Her newest book, "Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others", was released the week after the dinner, was available for purchase and signing by Taylor at the event. Her New York Times best-seller "An Altar in the World" won the Silver Nautilus Award and the Rodda Book Award. Among her many honors, Taylor was on Time magazine's annual list of the Most Influential People in 2014. She was named Georgia Woman of the Year in 2015 and received The President's Medal at the Chautauqua Institution in New York in 2016. Taylor also addressed the Organization at its 2014 Annual Dinner. The event also included the presentation of the 2019 John C. Randolph Award, established in 2004 to honor a person or organization in the community who exemplifies the mission of the Palm Beach Fellowship of Christians & Jews, to Louis C. Pryor and the late Harold "Hal" B. Scott. Both men were known for their involvement in community affairs and tackling issues that affect the quality of life in Palm Beach and beyond. Jane Scott accepted the award on behalf of her late husband.
