Placer Land Trust works with willing landowners and conservation partners to permanently protect Placer County's natural and agricultural lands for current and future generations.

The primary function of Placer Land Trust (PLT) is to protect agricultural and natural land for public benefit in the Placer County region through acquisition and management of land and/or conservation easements. Over this fiscal year PLT has protected an additional 1,515 acres through five projects, bringing the cumulative total of land protected to over 11,000 acres. Highlights of the year include the following conservation projects 1) Antonio Mountain Ranch Preserve 794 acres of grassland and vernal pools near Lincoln, CA providing wetland and threatened species habitat, 2) Laursen Bear River Preserve 361 acres of oak woodland along the Bear River north of Auburn, CA expanding a block of nearly 8,000 acres of protected land covering about six miles of the Bear River, 3) Oest Ranch Lone Star Preserve 314 acres of oak woodland and grassland north of Auburn, the final phase of protecting an entire 940 acre historic Oest Ranch.
