Riverkeepers Educate Program seeks to educate elected officials, regulatory agencies and the community about the problems of the river and what actions we can take to restore the river's health. Our 2018 Educate Program accomplishments include: Leading efforts to prevent soil and contaminants generated from the North Bay fires from reaching the streams within the Mark West Creek watershed, which is a key Steelhead stream.Monitoring water quality from dairies and vineyards to help identify actions farmers need to take to protect the Russian River and strengthen regulatory permits.Partnered with local schools to train students to collect valuable biologic data on stream health for Salmon recovery efforts.
