All students (80-100) in our Walt Whitman 21st Century Community Learning Center participated in Homework Help to improve their academic proficiency. In 2017, the percentage of students reading on grade level improved from 13% to 40%. The average Lexile growth for students taking the SRI test was 161%. This far exceeded the national expected growth level of 75 to 100 points. Two participants submitted winning entries to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Arthur Ashe essay contest.
