The children served are involved in juvenile court proceedings in Houston County, Georgia. Casa of Houston County, Inc. provides a voice for the children in court and to present the best interest of the child before the court, the social service system and the community service providers, thus assuring the child's right to appropriate placement. Volunteers are drawn from interested citizens in Houston County who are trained so that they can stand ready to serve abused and neglected children. Casa volunteers work with juvenile court judges, administrators, attorneys and counselors as well as parents, other family members, the department of family and children's services and any other person who has an interest in the child.
