HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2018 INCLUDE, 21,228 SKATERS TOOK TO THE ICE AT SKATE IN THE PARK. 12 FIRST FRIDAY ART WALKS ATTRACTED A RECORD 39,000 PATRONS. OVER 500 PARTICIPANTS ENJOYED OUR SECOND ANNUAL URBAN LIVING TOUR. 40 DOWNTOWN WALKING TOURS ENGAGED 1,275 PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES. 17 COMPELLING ARTWORKS WERE INSTALLED FOR THE 20TH ANNUAL ART ON THE STREETS EXHIBIT. I HAVE BEEN DREAMING TO BE A TREE A STUNNING STAINLESS-STEEL SCULPTURE OF A DEER BY ARTIST BYEONG DOO MOON, WAS PURCHASED THROUGH THE JUDY NOYES MEMORIAL PURCHASE FUND AND DONATED TO THE CITY. NEARLY 600 PEOPLE ATTENDED THE THIRD ANNUAL CITY CENTER SERIES TO HEAR INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED SPEAKERS. DOWNTOWN VENTURES PARTNERED WITH PALMER LAND TRUST ON THE "FOREVER YOURS, THE LAND" CAMPAIGN AIMED AT USING THE ARTS AS A VEHICLE TO RAISE AWARENESS OF REGIONAL CONSERVATION EFFORTS. DOWNTOWN VENTURES ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE CITY WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING DIVISION, THE COUNCIL OF NEIGHBORS AND ORGANIZATIONS AND THE CULTURAL OFFICE OF THE PIKES PEAK REGION TO PAINT CONSERVATION-THEMED DESIGNS ON NINE STORM DRAINS IN SOUTHERN DOWNTOWN.AFTER MORE THAN FOUR YEARS OF COMMUNITY VISIONING AND PLANNING COMMUNITY VENTURES LAUNCHED PIKERIDE BIKE SHARE IN JUNE 2018, WITH JUST OVER 200 BRIGHT PURPLE "SMART" BIKES SERVING THE GREATER CITY CENTER.
