CREATIVITY FOR PEACE TRAINS YOUNG ISRAELI AND PALESTINIAN WOMEN TO PARTNER AS LEADERS BY TRANSFORMING ANGER AND PREJUDICE TO MUTUAL RESPECT, FACILITATING AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE OTHER, AND INSPIRING ACTION TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND PEACE. BASED IN SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO SINCE 2003 AND OPERATING IN THE USA, PALESTINE, AND ISRAEL, THE ORGANIZATION USES DIALOGUE AND ART TO INTRODUCE THE STORY OF THE OTHER SIDE AND DEVELOP THE HEALING, COMPASSION AND TRUST NECESSARY FOR RECONCILIATION. PROGRAMS FOR MORE THAN 300 PARTICIPANTS, BEGINNING WHEN THEY ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL, INCLUDE: - A THREE-WEEK SUMMER INTENSIVE IN NEW MEXICO - YEAR-ROUND GATHERINGS BY LANGUAGE, WITH MOTHERS, AND FOCUSED ON A THEME OR PROJECT IN PALESTINE AND ISRAEL - ADVANCED LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND PRACTICE - WORKSHOPS AND OTHER PROJECTS FACILITATED BY YOUNG PEACEMAKERS FOR THEIR PEERS IN ISRAEL, PALESTINE, AND THE UNITED STATES - LIMITED ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS SIXTY YOUNG WOMEN HAVE ACTIVELY TRAINED AND PRACTICED LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN LOCAL, REGIONAL AND GLOBAL SETTINGS, INCLUDING THE UNITED NATIONS, WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM, GLOBAL YOUTH SUMMIT, ROTHKO CHAPEL, WORLD AFFAIRS COUNCIL OF HOUSTON AND MANY MORE. FACILITATING DIALOGUE WORKSHOPS AND PUBLIC SPEAKING ARE KEY ASPECTS OF THIS TRAINING. SINCE 2009, CREATIVITY FOR PEACE LEADERS HAVE SPOKEN APPROXIMATELY 60 TIMES TO AMERICAN FAITH COMMUNITIES AND AT 35 PUBLIC VENUES IN THE UNITED STATES, EUROPE, ISRAEL AND PALESTINE. THEY HAVE GIVEN ROUGHLY 45 MEDIA INTERVIEWS AND TALKS TO MORE THAN 50 SCHOOL AND YOUTH GROUPS IN NEW YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, NEW MEXICO, COLORADO AND TEXAS.
