TO PROMOTE GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING IN THE COLONIA DESIGNATED COMMUNITIES; TO PROMOTE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC SELF SUFFICIENCY THROUGH ADVOCACY, COLLABORATION AND FACILITATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND ACCESS TO SAFE, DECENT AND SANITARY HOUSING IN THE COLONIAS; TO DEVELOP MULTI ISSUE, SELF HELP COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATIONS TO RESPOND TO COMMON NEEDS; TO CREATE A COALITION AMONG COLONIAS COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TRAINING, ORGANIZING CAPACITY AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO EXISTING COLONIAS AND FUTURE COLONIA ORGANIZATIONS; AND TO ADVOCATE FOR MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS ON ISSUES SUCH AS FUNDING AND POLICIES RELATED TO COLONIAS AT THE COUNTY, STATE, AND FEDERAL LEVELS.

1) WE HAVE CONTINUED TO OFFER CITIZENSHIP CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE DONA ANA COUNTY, WITH OVER 240 STUDENTS ENROLLED IN SEVERAL COMMUNITIES. THESE COMMUNITIES INCLUDE LAS CRUCES PROPER, SUNLAND PARK, DONA ANA, ANTHONY, HATCH, AND VADO. THE ISIF (INTEGRATED SERVICES FOR IMMIGRANT FAMILIES) CONTINUES TO OFFER IMMIGRATION SERVICES TO A WIDE VARIETY OF APPLICANTS. 2) WE ALSO HAVE CONSOLIDATED OUR PROMOTORAS DE APOYO FAMILIAR PROGRAM, OFFERING TRAINING FOR PROMOTORAS ON A REGULAR BASIS. THESE TRAINING TOPICS SURFACE AS A RESULT OF THE INPUT FROM THE PROMOTORAS THEMSELVES. 3) THE CHAPARRAL FAMILY DEVELOPMENT CENTER CONTINUES TO OFFER A VARIETY OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE) PROGRAMS, FROM INFANT CARE, EARLY- PREKINDER, AND AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMMING. THE CFDC IS PROVIDES MUCH NEEDED ECE PROGRAMMING FOR CHAPARRAL. 4) WE CONTINUE TO SOLIDIFY AND EXPAND OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE REGION, INCLUDING OUTSIDE OF DONA ANA COUNTY TO PROVIDE MUCH-NEEDED IMMIGRATION SERVICES.
