About

Counseling JFS provides counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in its Salt Lake and Park City offices. The organization uses an outcome measurement tool, the OQ-45, which measures symptoms of distress, interpersonal relationships, and social roles. The expansion of our offices in 2017 to include more counseling and program space has allowed us to see more individuals and families in need of affordable mental health services. In 2018, 603 individuals received over 3000 hours of affordable counseling services and an additional 150 participated in a variety of groups. We received funds to assist in hiring an APRN (advanced nurse practitioner with psychiatric training) who can help assess, prescribe and manage medication for counseling clients. JFS continues to be a training ground for students studying for their masters in social work, their license to be a professional mental health counselor and advanced practice registered nurse. The Parent Plus program assists families with relationship and parenting skills. This program also includes concurrent programming for their children and a communal family dinner. This program is primarily targeted at low income families.
