About this organization
Mission
The Children's Science Center's mission is to inspire a love of learning STEM by providing unique opportunities to explore and create. The Science Center Lab opened in 2015 at Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax, VA as the first non-profit of its kind for the region. The Center welcomes 50,000 visitors to the Lab annually plus over 20,000 additional through robust community programs, serving over 300,000 students, families, and educators since 2010. The Center's vision is to create a world class interactive science center that ignites the curiosity in all of us. In 2019 a public-private partnership with the Science Museum of Virginia created the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation and embarked on the design and building of a full-scale science center on donated land in Dulles, VA.
About
We continued to provide our museum without walls program at various venues, at which we served more than 24,673 visitors during 108 events. This program meets our objective to spark children's interest in science, technology, engineering and math topics by providing hands-on exhibits and experiments.
